juno

February 21, 2008

I went to see Juno tonight with a co-worker.  It was a charming movie that did little to discourage teen pregnancy and managed to convey the message that if you are a pregnant teen, hoping to have an extra-marital affair, or a desperate woman who can only self-validate if she has a baby – by any available means – it all works out in the end and everyone is happy and you can strum your guitar off into the sunset with Belle and Sebastian or Tegan and Sara or some other strummy band of choice.  Having said that it was really adorable and even if it had been the most enlightening and well-balance movie founded in reality ever made, I still would have problems taking it seriously simply because Jennifer Garner is one of the stars.  After 13 Going on 30 I cannot take her seriously.

Let the record also reflect that I am a big fan of 13 Going on 30 (as embarrassing as that is) and any situation where people spontaneously bust into the Thriller dance.

In other news, it’s snowing and that makes me angry and tired, so I’ll bid thee farewell.

But everything always does work out in the end. Funny about that.
